How Last Man Standing works
One team a round. Win to survive. Last one standing takes the pot.
The basics
- Each round you pick one Premier League team you think will win.
- Win and you go through to the next round.
- A draw or a loss and you are out. Only a win keeps you in.
- You cannot pick the same team twice in a game. Once you have used a team, it is gone for the rest of that game.
- If your match is postponed or abandoned, you stay in and go through to the next round.
Who can play
- Last Man Standing is for our Over 50s Football members. You need to be an active member to take part, and only active members can win.
- If you cancel your membership partway through a game and your payments are up to date, that is fine. You can see out the game you are already in.
- Once that game finishes, you would need to be an active member again to join the next one.
- If we cannot match you to a current member when you try to join, we will simply say your name was not recognised and take a look before you come in.
Picking and deadlines
- Picks lock at the deadline, which is the kickoff of the first match of the round.
- You can change your pick as many times as you like before the deadline. After that it is locked.
- Forgot to pick? A team you have not used yet is chosen for you at random, so you are never knocked out just for forgetting.
Paying and the pot
- Entry is £5.00 per game, paid to Over 50s Football.
- Use your own name as the payment reference so we can match your payment to you.
- The last player standing wins the pot. If more than one player is left and they agree to share it, that is fine.
- No buy back in. Once you are out, you are out for that game.
Rollovers
- If everyone goes out in the same round, nobody wins.
- The pot rolls over to a fresh game and carries on growing.
- The same players carry over with the same link. Everyone pays again to stay in for the new game.
